Yeh Dil maange more!!!!!!!!!!! Champions trophy

8 teams 12 days of date with the ball and bat, wow for any cricket loving crazy guy like me its going to be a treat and what better day to kick start the game of cricket than my birthday yes its there 22ND Sept 2009 rolls the Champions trophy amidst south Africa.
8 teams divided into 2 groups 4 semifinalist and 2 finalist hmm quiet exciting, well except for WI(they are going in with second string team because of contract issues) and England I think every team has a good shot, yes NZ too don't count them out people, they dnt look as a exciting unit but they can be dangerous with likes of Ross Taylor, Brendon Mcullum, Oram and Ryder and the name is back, the name is "Bond" Shane Bond the sturdy policeman will be quite a handful on SA pitches.
Australia on a high drubbing England in their own den by a possible 7-0 by tomorrow have a point to prove, No Symonds No Haydos, but they have Mr. Punter in ominous form Brett Lee trying to hit the cricket pitch with a vengeance, Hussey and future captain Clarke with their other resources will be hard to beat but the catchline is "They are trying to beat others".
SA home advantage currently no.1 in world with Greame Smith at their helm gibbs, kallis, boucher(though he does not remain the treat he was), Morkel bros and pace battery of steyn, parnell and ntini..and are said to be potential title holders. But than potential needs to be turned to results.
Lets just turn attentions to our lovely neighbours.
SL they can roar, middle order needs to fire , well Kumar Sangakaara the captain, or be it the rockstar malinga, or mystery man mendis, or the king of spin himself Murli(can turn a cricket ball n glass top) or can we miss out the Matara Marauder Sanath Jayasuriya, when he hits them it stays hit, and ofcourse the crafty Mahela and Kandamby. The captain said "we prefer underdogs tag and keep working under the radar and prove ourselves" well said !!!!
Pakistan riding high on T20 WC success is a perfect story of underdogs firing and barking when least expected the new chap M Aamer can be a real surprise packet, How the hell on this earth Pak nation always find young fast bowlers, but well with Pakistan you never know so " Expect the unexpected" they are simply unexpected they may ride home back with Champions trophy with likes of Boom Boom Afridi(from last 15 years i see him in age group of 20-30), smart Younis, and some new youngsters.

India Aha Nothing official about it, well last 1-2 yrs have been potential going on to becoming no.1 but have not fulfilled the potential yes if they play according to potential I bet not only this Champions Trophy but WC will be also in our kitty( well WC we can wait on it just a rush of blood)
Well it all started from Champions trophy in 2001(if i may remember the year correctly) a aggressive Bengal tiger turned the boys into men, and we have benefited from it no denial on that and time has come to take that one more step, well the team, bache bache unka naam lete hain be it the sexy sixer hitting punjabi munda yuvi, Raina who just showed us in the final can effectively roll his arm, IPL star Pathan or delhi openner Gambhir, pace battery of Ishant, Nehra, Praveen and RP.
with exp of bhajji, RD(wall) and the master himself Sachin( just got swayed by his one figures, have a look
ODIs 428
Runs 16895(current WI team cannot boast of half the runs sachin has scored)
High: 186*
SR:85.77
Avg: almost 45(44.57))

captain cool Dhoni has task of driving the lads to their potential.
They key to our victory will be fielding and bowling batting.

My final four:
India
SA
Pak
NZ

My heart beats for INDIA to pick up the trophy come on India get the cup "Yeh Dil Maange moore"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Interesting to note that you have selected 3 subcontinental teams out of the 4 finalists for a tournament held in SA! Let's see if that actually happens
