When you expect and you don't get the desired results it hurts you bad, well sadly but realistically India is out of T20 WC....Last 3 ICC tournaments..has been a disappointing performance to say the least.
On paper great potential but when it comes to performance well its there to be seen for everyone. Its not that every year we are going to win WC, but the manner in which we lost was more heartbreaking.
The media, former cricketers, BCCI have labeled out few reasons as always for this debacle: IPL, chin music, fatigue, Dhoni's tactical errors well agreed those were some of the factors, but for me the biggest point here is who is responsible for it, are these the real reasons I prolly don't have answers to it.
Loads of cricket:
Are the players who decide how many matches are to be played comprising of all 3 forms and IPl included, or is it the board ..well I feel it should be a consensus that has to be sought between players and BCCI for no. of matches to be played in a year. Its been so much excess of cricket throughout the year(yes its me saying that) that this was bound to be one of the reasons for the debacle.
IPL:
has been labeled as the main culprit, but why is IPL only affecting Indian players, agreed not all international players were playing but if you try to analyze each team's players, the core nucleus of all teams were involved in IPl except for Bangladesh, Pak(due to reasons we know), and remaining minnows. For Eng, Aus, SL most of the big guns were playing(Tait, Hussey, Warner, watson, KP, Colly, Morgan, Taylor, Bond, Harris, Mccullum, Mahela, Angelo, Sanga, Gayle, Kallis, Gibbs,Steyn and few more), irrespective of whether they play or not, they go thru routine travelling, workouts, pressure and oh ya the partying of IPL. So y all the hue and cry for IPL.
Well I would have loved to see if India would have made it to semis and finals in good form, would playing in IPL contributed to their form and much needed pressure and match practice(again debatable)....so for me IPl also is not a very strong reason for the debacle....
Chin Music:
And ya as they say old nemesis of India Chin music bowling or as they say India cannot face fast bowling, they get goose bumps, they forget they have bats, is it really the reason yes agreed Aus had great pace battery but was it so hard to be 50/7..If we just go back few years in time and with old rules.. till mid 90's and b4 that every team had 2/3 great fast bowlers, be it pak, Aus, Eng, WI, or India(yes not tearaway but decent bowlers) with likes of (Imran, Aaquib, Merv Hughes, Simon Doull. Walsh, Ambrose, Mcgrath, Gillespie, Wasim, Waqar, Danny, Kapil, Srinath, Gough and few more) I mean fi we still faced them and have won, so is it a reason, yes the way some of them got out was more than embarrassing, but the rules today help the batsmen a great deal, only boucer/over is it that hard to negotiate...well may be for India it is.
Dhoni's errors with backing Jadeja, going with more spinners and not so called pacers, not batting first, if batted first yes the pressure of scoring so many runs around 8/over would have not been there but does it guarantee we could have better with our performance.....
Well all ifs and butts... all reasons which has the ways to go both the ways, I am confused with the reasons for debacle, what is/are the real reason behind such a performance...which like after every debacle will die its own cause, and when there is a next ICC tournament we the people, media and all the former chatterboxes who know to speak will hail them as worthy contenders, but will it end it in similar manner or bring a smile I don't know but as of know I am thoroughly confused with it............
Hope in future we play much better!!!!!!!!

WCT20
IPL3 is over and CSK are crowned IPL3 champions, and its time for WC T20, 16 days 27 matches in the Caribbean.
This time there are 4 groups each with 3 teams, best 8 go on to Super8's followed by the best 4 to the semis, and 2 to the finals, As the 4 groups stand out more less the teams for Super 8's are on the cards with India, Aus, Pak, SL, SA, Eng, WI, NZ. Would have been more interesting and probably ICC should consider having teams like Zim, Afghan, Ireland in one group would fetch some interesting matches. Well kudos to the Afghan team for the way they have made their way to the cricketing world, we all knowof the situation going on in thier country. Well other than Bangladesh other 3 minows don't seem to have it in them to do what they term it an upset.
Moving on to the business end of the tournament i.e. the Super 8's more or less would be interesting with all teams having good composition.
Starting with the host WI, with likes of Gayle, Bravo, the big tick player Pollard and with ever conssistent C'Paul and Sarwan, the batting looks good with perfect home advantage, and the bowling with lesser known for likes of Taylor(coming back from injury), Kemar Roach, Benn.
England well they have never been like a team to be scared of in limited or test cricket. They have a lone KP and fighting PC, but thats the only 2 names which comes to my mind, yes they do have likes of Broad, Jamie, Swann(highly rated in Eng), an unkown Yardy and IPL benefitted M Lumb from RR, but would have to play out of their skins to reach the semis.
Same probably goes for SL...Mahela, Sanga, the slinger Malinga(is it his action or my eyes), the Angelic Mathews, well for SL to turn the tables, Murli and Mendis might have to be trump cards on the slow WI tracks, with much needed help from the slinger, yes a certain Jayasuriya(can I know if he plays why the hell he is kept for at no.6) but probably I feel he is good for being MP in SL.
Australia well the trade pundits seem to have their bets on them this year for the much coveted title holders, with likes of Warner, White, Watson(can get in few decent overs and is good at breaking partnerships), Clarke and the Hussey brothers have a good batting order but I feel they are more traditional whn it comes to T20 except for Warner and Watson. The Aussie pacce department would have definitely got the opp batsmen jumping if T20 was on bouncy pitches, what surprises me is they have only a 20 yrs old Steve Smith from whom much is expected in spin department. but having said that I feel they would still reach the semis.
Talking of down under for me the dark horses are this year NZ, with the bulky Ryder, technically not too bad Guptill, terrific Taylor, thinking captain Vettori, dangerous Mccullum, and their bowling also has a special Bond, young Southee, and the old Scotty Styris. They seem to be potentailly having good players, but at times they just don't come across to be as aggressive.
SA they always were never short of good players, Kallis, Smith, pace batter of Steyn, Langleveldth, or JP, AB, Boucher, Morkel brothers, but they probably get on to something after reaching the final stages, more seems to be a mental block, but than who knows might just go all the way.
Coming down to the 2 of most loved teams of cricket. India and Pakistan.
Starting with Pakistan, whatever keeps on happening in their country but they seem to have the flair for T20, First time finalist and last year Champions. This year they are still not out of the mess but are well rested and the lack of playing, adding the IPL woes, T20 might again give them the perfect meal to satisfy their hunger, but well they have BOOM BOOM as their captain, who will have to first lead by example if Paki has to make any grounds in T20, they have a decnt unit but they are as unpredictable as they have been always. They have good bowling with Asif back, and young sensation Aamer(liked his bowling is AUS), good offie in form of Saeed Ajmal, the Akmal brothers(we have quite a list of brothers in cricket). Would not be surprised if they reach semis.
Finally India well we all know we have potentailly good side with loads of talent and flair, in terms of batting and spin...pace has always been our worry. If we just play to our potentail with likes of Ms, Yuvi, Raina, Pathan, Gambhir and rest of the team, semis should not be dream.
My final 4 would be
Aus,
NZ/Pak
SA
India

Legends from Different Sports!!!!!!!!!!
Sports brings with it pride, passion, determination, dedication and above all love for the game, and however hard I try but draw similarities between 2 Living legends though from different sports but identical in terms of their love, passion and achievements, well I am sure you must have realized I am talking about 2 Greats Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar and Brett Favre.
They say "Age weakens your knees" but who cares if its Brett or Sachin, age surely has positive effect on them they have grown with age but their passion and love is as new and refreshing as of a youngster. How hard you try but cannot overlook the career stats.
A 40 year old vintage Favre has 277 NFL games to his credits and is the only players to beat all 16 playing NFL teams, and this cricketing legend has 430 ODIs and 159 test to his credits with the only player to have test centuries against all major cricketing playing nations.
Sachin has strike rate of 85.74 in ODis and Brett has 85.7 rate of scoring TD's.
An irreplaceable 472 TDs by Brett and 96 total no. of centuries by Sachin.
What do u feel or say when a 40 yr old Brett runs 50 yards after passing to block a defender or 36 yr old youngster running for a quick single like his life is on line.
Brett has passing yards of 65,964 and sachin has almost around 30, 000 runs(ODIs and tests).
People might argue that why do they still play and they might have their occasional game off but when you see Brett scoring a 50+ yard TD in final 7 secs of game or Sachin scoring a breathtaking century with some unimaginable shots you feel they just keep playing forever.
The world is witnessing 2 of the greats and their memories will live forever in hearts of people.

Yeh Dil maange more!!!!!!!!!!! Champions trophy
8 teams 12 days of date with the ball and bat, wow for any cricket loving crazy guy like me its going to be a treat and what better day to kick start the game of cricket than my birthday yes its there 22ND Sept 2009 rolls the Champions trophy amidst south Africa.
8 teams divided into 2 groups 4 semifinalist and 2 finalist hmm quiet exciting, well except for WI(they are going in with second string team because of contract issues) and England I think every team has a good shot, yes NZ too don't count them out people, they dnt look as a exciting unit but they can be dangerous with likes of Ross Taylor, Brendon Mcullum, Oram and Ryder and the name is back, the name is "Bond" Shane Bond the sturdy policeman will be quite a handful on SA pitches.
Australia on a high drubbing England in their own den by a possible 7-0 by tomorrow have a point to prove, No Symonds No Haydos, but they have Mr. Punter in ominous form Brett Lee trying to hit the cricket pitch with a vengeance, Hussey and future captain Clarke with their other resources will be hard to beat but the catchline is "They are trying to beat others".
SA home advantage currently no.1 in world with Greame Smith at their helm gibbs, kallis, boucher(though he does not remain the treat he was), Morkel bros and pace battery of steyn, parnell and ntini..and are said to be potential title holders. But than potential needs to be turned to results.
Lets just turn attentions to our lovely neighbours.
SL they can roar, middle order needs to fire , well Kumar Sangakaara the captain, or be it the rockstar malinga, or mystery man mendis, or the king of spin himself Murli(can turn a cricket ball n glass top) or can we miss out the Matara Marauder Sanath Jayasuriya, when he hits them it stays hit, and ofcourse the crafty Mahela and Kandamby. The captain said "we prefer underdogs tag and keep working under the radar and prove ourselves" well said !!!!
Pakistan riding high on T20 WC success is a perfect story of underdogs firing and barking when least expected the new chap M Aamer can be a real surprise packet, How the hell on this earth Pak nation always find young fast bowlers, but well with Pakistan you never know so " Expect the unexpected" they are simply unexpected they may ride home back with Champions trophy with likes of Boom Boom Afridi(from last 15 years i see him in age group of 20-30), smart Younis, and some new youngsters.
India Aha Nothing official about it, well last 1-2 yrs have been potential going on to becoming no.1 but have not fulfilled the potential yes if they play according to potential I bet not only this Champions Trophy but WC will be also in our kitty( well WC we can wait on it just a rush of blood)
Well it all started from Champions trophy in 2001(if i may remember the year correctly) a aggressive Bengal tiger turned the boys into men, and we have benefited from it no denial on that and time has come to take that one more step, well the team, bache bache unka naam lete hain be it the sexy sixer hitting punjabi munda yuvi, Raina who just showed us in the final can effectively roll his arm, IPL star Pathan or delhi openner Gambhir, pace battery of Ishant, Nehra, Praveen and RP.
with exp of bhajji, RD(wall) and the master himself Sachin( just got swayed by his one figures, have a look
ODIs 428
Runs 16895(current WI team cannot boast of half the runs sachin has scored)
High: 186*
SR:85.77
Avg: almost 45(44.57))
captain cool Dhoni has task of driving the lads to their potential.
They key to our victory will be fielding and bowling batting.
My final four:
India
SA
Pak
NZ
My heart beats for INDIA to pick up the trophy come on India get the cup "Yeh Dil Maange moore"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Mom's birthday
Hmm must be wondering y do i have to blog for my mom's birthday but for me blogging is all about expressing myself and what better feelings to express than, about my mom's birthday I know my mom is never going to read this blog but it makes my happy to write about my mom. People can write about technologies, about latest financial issues going on, the bailout or Mr. President's healthcare views but i felt like writing for my mom and so I am doing it, its always good to express yourself, my mom is the sweetest and most important part of my life,(well my feelings are no diff than any other kid's feeling), I called her today to wish her and she said if I was with her that turned my eyes moist.
My mom till date she prays for me and i know she always will keep doing that, for her I am the best, she loves me more than anyone else in this world, she always feels worried for me(like all other mom), I miss her always when she is not besides me i miss the love(i know the love is laways there but still i miss it), be it good or bad times it always bring a smile to my face when i talk her or think about her, i miss the scoldings which she gave me or beatings(very rare she has hit me) and than she would cry for it, make my fav food and than take me out. Well there are so many things to write about her, 29yrs cannot be summed up on paper, mom if ever u read this mom i just wanna say thank you for giving m e this life and making my life so beautiful, Wish you a very "Happy birthday" I love u and miss u a lot, I just pray to GOD to keep you happy healthy and as loving as you are, Love you mom miss you!!!!!!!!!!

India Breaking the final jinx
Wow India finally managed to break the final jinx and win!!!!! Well all in all a exciting game of cricket, be it the master class batting of the genius Sachin or stroke making of yuvi or cool composure of Kandamby or aggressiveness by bhajji all in all a fitting final
Yes of course we(India) just sneaked the win but a win is a win, so all qs of Sachin not firing in finals has been put to rest till we reach the next finals and depending on how he plays it.
Well fielding was a big letdown and so was the pace department, we were back to 1980-1990 standard of fielding sloppy work in the field, missing dolly simple catches, Ishant looks a shadow of what he was when he bursted on the international screen, RP was on and off, and when he managed to pass the outside edge of SL batsmen, his reaction seemed like "Hey i can pass the outside edge with a good swinger".
Well 1998 was the last time when India won against Sl in a final on SL soil, so this was sort of historic win.
Enjoyed the way SL started their run chase and hold on to it till they fumbled at final lap, they were aggressive and taking Indian bowlers from scruff of their necks, It took a aggressive bhajji to wield his magic, it was good to see bhajji finally taking the mantle of taking wickets in his hands, not to forget bowling of raina his little off cutters and slower ones were economically very useful in course of the victory.
Well the no.2 side in the world, well as Dhoni rightly said in his interview if u have hopes of being no.1 than we need fielding to be on the money, pace bowling to be of utmost quality, the potential is there and we have seen it, its matter of being consistent or well have some more experience, well Champions trophy is not even a week away, so come one India tighten the loose ends get on the money and win the Champions trophy and become a champion side in real terms.
Congratulations to the Indian team and all the best for Champions trophy.....get us one more cup!!!!!!!!!!

Those were the best days of my Life!!!!!!!!!
I wake up on chilly Saturday morning prepare some hot tea, grab my cup of team and walk down, the chilly morning tea takes me back to my college days....
When I was going thru the routines of engg we(me, my cousin and a dear friend Bhikubhai) stayed in Rutu enclave a rental community about 5 mins from college, well our parents perspective was we would travel less and indeed get more time to study, wee also had a perspective a bit different from them,
So I used to hangout with 2 gangs of friends first one(Niral, shilpi, meghna, hiren, jigs, hems, ji, pathak and many more) and sceond one(called as Rutu gang so called hostelites)..Those were the days when love and romance was in the air for me, music in my veins, dreams in my eyes, at times well most times day dreamed of some weird situations like being a hero, honestly would not like to share those dreams as it is they have crashed so whats the fun!!!!!!!
Most of the day time I used to hangout with first gang and evenings and nighttime with Rutu gang, apart from this other times would end up being on PCO, no mobiles at that time for me, so eventually end up being tired with some great activities and not getting any time to study(truly not my fault if there are only 24hrs in a day..)
Hanging out with Friends at bhagvati pav bhaji centre discussing each other's love story and if time and sense permitted sometimes abt how to pass our exams, imagine you are discussing this and the environment is so tensed that your friend ends up lighting a cigarette and next moment you see your friend's pa walking down, so what you do is hide your light with a topi...and lucky us bapu does not notice...more worrying factor than bapu was not having more money for another cigarette, or imagine you talking with your sweetheart in wee hrs of morning like 4am and her brother picks up the second line and you still get away with it...saying oh that was wrong number, or going out to back to back movies "Apollo13" and evergreen Rangeela in regal cinema, your friends feeling the theatre seats moving when Apollo 13 takes off, and asking you whether your seat is moving too and to their surprise they find you dozing off, bcas u don't Care a shit abt English movies
Zipping around Kandivli M.J. road on zone of 25 at speed of 50 trying to be a cool dude and your DAD sees you doing all the stunts, and very politely asking you "Beta aaj pachi tame car ne haath nai lagavta" in way don't you dare touch my car.
Going to Lagaan movie just the night before your engg exams, and you end up failing in not one but 6 subjects and blaming it all on your college saying they don't want me to pass because of XYZ reasons(what a dumb ass I was how i cud I fail in 6 subjects) but clearing the most difficult subject Eng Mechanics and feeling proud of that.
OR you running out of gas on dead end with your sister and friends and trying to be smart by opening the bonnet of your car and trying to find the reason for car stopping rather than checking the gas...stupid me
Imagine you taking your GF to same UDIPI restaurant for 4 yrs of your life and bribing your cousin with a masala idli or dosa so he does not open his mouth
Y the hell I used to be broke before the month ended and there were 10 more days to go, or sneaking out from backdoor for garba so you save on that money,
Imagine you roomie feeling proud abt the fact that he found a young maid who can cook and is suppose to be a good cook but you end up eating alu parathas for all 7 days of the week, your roomie blushing when the maid requests him"AAP AATA LE AAYE AATA KHATAM ho GAYA" and he runs like he is in some running competition.
or you teasing your cousin over your OOPS teacher because she will take his submission no Q's asked, oops what happen there (well the Mera naam joker thing did not happen), your HOD screwing you at time of submissions, and many more!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today when I think of it they seem stupid and does not make sense but who said life is always about making sense all the time.
Many say Fame Money Ambition makes your life worth, for me these moments make my life worth, I cannot go back to my college days but always will remember the days which were truly
"THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE"
When I was going thru the routines of engg we(me, my cousin and a dear friend Bhikubhai) stayed in Rutu enclave a rental community about 5 mins from college, well our parents perspective was we would travel less and indeed get more time to study, wee also had a perspective a bit different from them,
So I used to hangout with 2 gangs of friends first one(Niral, shilpi, meghna, hiren, jigs, hems, ji, pathak and many more) and sceond one(called as Rutu gang so called hostelites)..Those were the days when love and romance was in the air for me, music in my veins, dreams in my eyes, at times well most times day dreamed of some weird situations like being a hero, honestly would not like to share those dreams as it is they have crashed so whats the fun!!!!!!!
